Cut Once and Craft for a Week.
With the addition of two grandchildren, my crafting time has been drastically reduced. I get an hour here and there to put a small project together, but not the real craft time I desire. In a effort to get more projects done, I decided to borrow an idea from some busy mom blogs. "Cook once, eat all week." So this week, I am cutting once to craft all week!
(previous years projects)
The Bunny Hop kit by SVG Cuts from a few years ago, has one of my favorite projects for Easter. I love the Bunny box! I made all the grandkids one several years ago, but with new family members, everyone is getting a new bunny. I have papers picked and I'm cutting out 8 bunnies to put together this week. It's the setup process that takes me the longest. Although this project is easy to pick paper for, cutting and weeding still take a while to do. It seems I can be in my craftroom, unbothered, for several hours on Friday nights! I have two more bunnies to cut out, so I shall get back to it!

Free SVG Files!
Have you been to the Dreaming Tree website yet? If not, get over there fast! They have several totally free svg files to download. And right now, they will give you a gift card worth $2.99 to their website, just for making one of the free SVG files! How crazy is that?!?! But that's not all....if they get to 15,000 facebook likes before the promo ends, they will have a cutting machine give away. To enter, you just have to make the free file and enter to receive the gift card! So, here is the link to get the free file (Click here). And here is the link to enter once you make the Clover Treat basket (Click here). Be sure to go to their facebook page and give them a like! The sooner they get to 15,000, the closer we'll all be to winning !

It's Been A While
Someone may be wondering where I disappeared to, so I thought I would take a minute and update by blog. In September, a new grandson was born. Then in October, and new granddaughter was born. I watch the grandson and his sister (who turns three in a few days) Monday through Friday and I watch the new granddaughter about 2 Saturdays each month. That doesn't leave much time or energy for crafting these days. I do manage to sneak in an item or two here and there. I did make a free file from Dreaming Tree for preschool teachers.
It was quick and very easy, but looks so nice! The papers are from my stash. I got them several years ago. Makingmemories Je t'adore. And foil paper I found by chance at the Dollar Tree. It's called Do It Yourself Projects Holographic and Foil Sheets by Jot. It came with 20 sheets of varying colors. I was shocked. It cut very nicely. The trim around the bottom was from Micheals. It's called Fabulous Finds Adhesive Trim. It's a really fun touch that looks so sparkly.
I hope to get a rhythm back for more crafting soon.
Thanks for stopping by!

Cinderella
Back in the spring, when Cinderella first came out, I took my grandsons and a friend to see it. I fell in love with that version of the movie. I had planned to make the pumpkin coach by SVG Cuts, but never got around to it. This week, I rented it at Redbox and watchd it with my granddaughter. (She's 2 1/2). After we watched it a few times, I knew for sure I wanted to make the coach. So I picked out my papers and got to cutting.
I have a pad of DCWV Once Upon a Time that I have been hoarding. It was perfect for this! I have since added a crown jewel sticker to the top that isn't shown here. I hadn't bought them yet.
This was remarkably easy to assemble. But the finised project is so elegant and delightful! I think I will be making a few more in different color schemes.
If you want to try your hand at this project, just check out SVG Cuts, it's the Enchanted Autumn.

Sunday is Flag Day!
June 14th is Sunday and that is Flag day. That means you can get out all of your patriotic decor and enjoy it for almost a month!
I feel inspired to make the lighthouse from SVG Cuts. I think that will be my project this weekend. I have the Graphic 45 paper By the Sea, so I should put it to good use.

It will be nice to get back to crafting on a more consistant schedule again!
Have a great weekend!

It's Been Awhile!
It has been awhile since I've posted. It's been awhile since I was in my craft studio. I'm really tardy in completing the prize for the 200 page likes give away, but I finally got all the 3D pieces put together.
This is the first time I've made all the 3D projects in a single kit. It was really fun to pick a paperstack collection and work only from that stack for the decorated papers. I also kept a common theme on the solid color paper. I hope the winner will like the choices!
I'm hoping to get into my studio and craft some more. Since I didn't complete my 30 day challenge, so many events have kept me out of the craft room. Hopefully, this has passed and I can get back to more crafting. At least a few times a week!
Thanks for stopping by. I want to put the General Store from Country Market SVG kit together soon. Be sure to check in and see how I'm doing!

Day 14 of 30 day challenge.
For day 14 I wanted to do something I have never done before. A scrapbook page! I found an easy layout at SVG Cuts, in the Poplar Street Tulips collection. My pictures were going the wrong direction, so I turned things around to make it work for me. I like it! It was easy and quick to do! The larger pattern paper was from making memories called dilly daly. I got it on clearance a few years ago and I'm trying to use it up. The rest was scraps or AC cardstock. Had it all complete in under an hour. I may just do some more in the future!

Day 7 of My Personal Challenge
First, let me start today's blog with a customer service story. Yesterday's project didn't turn out the way I had invisioned, and I want to make another cap, correctly. One of the problems I encoutered was the shape I wanted to cut didn't maintain the score lines when I broke it apart and copied it to a different page. This is something that is really easy to do, if you know what you're doing. Clearly, yesterday I did not. I had to hand score the tabs for the front panels. I don't enjoy scoring by hand. I knew that what I wanted to do could be done, I just didn't know how to go about it. So, I sent an email to SVG Cuts. They are the designers of the file I was using. Within 2 hours I had a response and a link to the video I needed. 2 hours! That's just the kind of service you can always expect from SVG Cuts.
Now on to todays challenge. It was a double challenge, because my granddaughter is sick, and that always limits any time I have for anything! This project is going to take two days. I spent this evening cutting it out and will put it together tomorrow. Here's a picture of my progress

30 Day Challenge, Day 4
WARNING! This one hits high on the cute scale!
This egg from the Poplar Street Tulips by SVG Cuts is a favorite. It always looks so good when it's finished!
This egg turned out too darn adorable! The base is pink AC Cardstock. The top panels are by We R Memory Keepers, Cotton Tails. I got several sheets at Hobby Lobby in a clearance pack. Love it! The bottom panels are from First Edition Papers. The collection is called Spring Drop. I'm going to be looking for that stack again. It is sooooo cute.
This egg is a hostess gift. I was hesitant at first about the pink makng a statement, but I really do love how it turned out! I think it will be well recieved!
Tomorrow I will have a post, but I made the project a day early. Hope you don't mind!

Day 2 of 30 Day Challenge
It is day 2 and I do have another project to share. Today it's from the SVG Cuts Box Cards file.
To make this card I used one full sheet of white AC Cardstock and the the rest of the single colored paper was from scraps. The fun flower paper that is on the inside flaps is from First Edition Paper. The pad is called Spring Drop. It is full of bright happy cardstock! I used two different embossing folders for the outside panels.
Making this card was a double challenge for me. I don't really care for "fussy" projects that force me to make a lot of decisions about what papers to use. I buy the majority of my paper in 12x12 format, so when I have to cut an entire sheet for a small project, it causes me great grief. I thought I would branch out and buy some 6x6 pads for box cards, but the pads I got didn't fit this card. However, I did find this card to be delightful and fun. I'll make another box card before the month is over!
Still trying to get to 200 facebook likes for a spring theme give away. Will you help?
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check in again tomorrow!

30 day Personal Challenge starts April 1!
Tomorrow I will begin posting a new project each day of April. Now to be honest, I don't plan on doing a project on Easter Sunday because of a family dinner I'll be hosting, so I'll do an additional project in the few days before and post it on Easter! Be sure to check in often (or daily would be even better) to see what crafty goodness I'll be up to! I hope to dive into svg kits that I have only dreamed of completing up to now! Fingers crossed!
Be sure to check out my Facebook page. I'll do a give away when it hits 200 page likes!

First Order From Craft Show Done! Whew!
I didn't sell a lot of what I had made for the craft show on February 7, but I did get a few nice orders for bunnies. I finished the first order today.
Bunny Hop SVG file from SVG Cuts
It feels great to have the first order done and behind me! Now to the rest!
Don't forget, I'm having a winner's choice give away when my Facebook page hits 100 page likes, so click on the word and you will be directed there! Thanks for stopping by!

First Craft Show is Done!
Well, I made it. Got to my first craft show and actually sold a few things! Unfortunately for the vendors and crafters, Wichita had a February temp of high 68 so the traffic was a little light. Most people chose to spend the day in the great outdoors on such a glorious day. We've had some really cold temps, so I don't blame them! I met some really nice people and bought some wonderful jams from Steve's Jams and Jellies. I opened the Cherry Cheesecake right away to try it. It really taste like Cherry Cheesecake!
Ok, back to my experience.
We could choose to set up either Friday evening, or Saturday morning. I chose Saturday morning, so I could do a mock set up at home first. (I also had to finish up pricing and packing my items) I got up just before 6am, took my shower, loaded my car and drove over to pick up my niece, who was helping me. We arrived right at 8 am and got busy setting up. We were done by 9 and I am very pleased with how our booth turned out.
One of the things my family highly suggested was for me to take the Easter bunnies from last year and see if anyone wanted to order them. That was the best idea of all! I ended up with orders for 10 bunnies!
All in all, I am very pleased with my first attempt at craft showing. I'll be keeping a look out for another small craft show for the future. In the mean time, I have some bunnies to make!
Be sure to visit my Facebook page and give it a like!

January Give Away is Live!
It's time to give something away! Go to my Facebook page for your chance to win a clutch purse like this one shown!
Winner will be selected from the eligible entries on January 22! You can't win if you don't enter!
Hello 2015!
A new year is here and I plan to share more projects with you while building up an inventory to take my crafting to a few shows this year. I hope you will follow along while I share my experiences with you.
My first goal will be to create some easy to assemble items that I can make in quantities that won't take up a lot of storage, or table space. With paper crafting, that is one of my biggest concerns; having the necessary space to display enough items to make the craft show circuit profitable, and keeping things from being crushed before they get there! Displaying is also a concern. Table tops alone won't allow for many items to be displayed. I have been on a search for the folding type wire shelves that were very popular a few years ago. I have found two so far. I need display items that are light weight and easily portable. I'll continue looking for the shelves while I start making a list of projects to work on.
I find that taking the time to select the paper and cut out the project is the big hurdle for me. I love putting them together. Assembly is something I can do while sitting with my granddaughter as she plays. She can turn my craft room into a disaster area if she's allowed in there! So cutting is something I have to do in the evenings, or during her nap time. However, I find that time taken up by other things that have to get done. That's something I need to overcome if I want to get this going!
Typing up my blog post is a way to keep me motivated. I feel if I have posted that I'm going to do something, that someone out there will be checking back to see when or if I get it done! So keep me honest blog readers!
As always, all the projects I will be creating are from SVG Cuts. I have registered with SVG Cuts for commercial use of their files, so I am allowed to sell at craft shows or on my website.
If you are reading this, and have sold your creations at craft shows, please feel free to comment. Perhaps you have some very useful advice for me and fellow readers!
As always, be sure to visit my Facebook page and like it. I will be doing more give aways starting soon!

10 Reasons Why I Love SVG Cuts!
Today I got a Facebook post from SVG Cuts alerting that there was a new free design available for download. It just reaffirmed why I love SVG Cuts and have since Easter of 2010.
This was a free file that they offered on 2-27-2010. It is also the day I discovered how wonderful they are! Below is what I made for a class of preschoolers for an Easter take home treat. I had just gotten my Cricut Expression in December, and hadn't really done any crafting like this before. SVG Cuts taught me a lot!
So today I thought I would share 10 reasons why I love SVG Cuts and only cut their kits. Here goes...
1. Free designs. They currently have 318 free designs to download.
2. Great kits! Every kit is carefully designed and tested to assure your crafting experience will be fun and rewarding.
3. Tutorials. All 3D projects have a video tutorial to help you assemble your project. Mary also includes crafty tips and highlights tools to help make crafting more fun and special. Because of her recommendations, I have gone out and purchased several crafty tools!
4. Product reviews. Leo has tested and reviewed all the new cutting machines that can cut SVG files whenever they come to market. His reviews are thorough and unbiased.
5. Customer service. They set the bar high, and deliver the best customer service in the business.
6. Personal interaction with customers. If you have a question, you're going to get an answer from Leo. If you have an issue, you're going to get support from Leo. And if you're lucky, you might just get a "because I wanted to talk to you" phone call from Leo. Not to mention the constant interaction Mary and Leo have with fans on Facebook.
7. Give aways. Lots and lots of chances to win something. Kits, cutting machines, gift cards, crafting tools, paper kits...the list goes on. I'm sure a big Christmas give away is about to be announced.
8. Affiliate program. If you have a website or blog, you can sign up for the affiliate program and earn a commission from every sale your site generates.
9. How to videos. Leo doesn't have to, but he makes videos to show us how to use different features in the Sure Cuts a Lot program/ecal. He has also made videos to show how to download kits to the software for the new Cricut and for Silhouette. These are wonderful value add items that don't generate revenue for them directly, but does have a positive impact on their business in the long run. It's a win/win!
10. Community. They have brought together a wonderful crafty community that can share ideas, and projects. We support one another. We cheer each other on. We cry with each other. We laugh with each other. They have given us a place to make friends with people all over the world, who share our passion for creating. A place to belong.
If you haven't gone to the SVG Cuts website or Facebook page, then I encourage you to look them up and browse their pages for a bit. I think you too will find your own 10 reason to love SVG Cuts!
