Selling Crafts

There are many places to sell crafts. With the popularity of the Internet, online selling will get you more exposure. There are numerous online craft sites.

The Internet Center for Arts and Crafts is an online craft fair where advertising is only one dollar. Another online place is called Street Fair America. It has over sixty six thousand products.

Other good places to sell crafts are craft shows. Check around your local area to find when they will be. There is usually a small fee to have a booth or table for your crafts. Farmer's markets are another place to sell crafts. You pay for a spot, and all your proceeds are yours.

There are also craft malls. Many towns have huge craft malls. You have a space for your crafts or antiques. There is a monthly fee for a booth. You tag and price all your items and the mall workers do the rest of the work. And you get your money from what sells in your booth. It is best to sell your crafts at a juried Craft Fair as they don't allow a bunch of cheap import items. They allow only handcrafted items, therefore people aren't comparing your handcrafted blankets with cheap ones.

Many towns have small consignment shops. The shop displays your crafts and for a percentage of the sale, they sell your stuff. Many people, when first starting out selling their crafts, will have a party at their home to show their crafts. These are called trunk shows.
