Doing Crafts with Kids

When kids are bored and don't know what to do with themselves, doing crafts together can be a great idea. By the time it is over, the child will feel happy and proud of themselves for making something themselves.

With Easter coming soon, you can make an Easter basket together with your child. All you do is glue cotton balls all around a basket or shoe box. Cut ears out of a piece of white felt, the inner part of the ears, and a tiny triangle out of pink felt. Then glue all of these things on. The triangle goes upside down for his nose. Glue a pipe cleaner shaped like a mouth underneath it. Now your kid has his own personal bunny to hunt eggs with.

Or you all can make a springtime rainbow. You just need a piece of poster board, poster paints, and your hands. Choose your color, spread it on hands, and starting at the bottom, make a rainbow from your hands. Start little, then get bigger. After each different color, you will both need to blow it dry or the paint will make a mess. Cover it with clear contact paper or have it laminated when you are finished, so you will always have it.

Your kids can even make a cute turtle out of CDs that you no longer use. Just trace the CD onto green craft foam and cut it out. Then glue the foam to the CD. Cut out octagons from the rest of the green felt and glue it together to make the shell. Cut out four legs from the felt and glue them to the underside of the CD. Glue googly eyes to the head, and your kid has a great turtle.
